Interlopers in our midst

   By Donna Cole

in·ter·lop·er: A person who becomes involved in a place or situation where they are not wanted or are considered not to belong. Synonym: intruder

 Much has been made by liberals of the Koch brothers various political donations supporting Gov. Scott Walker in both his election, and now in his recall election. To read the total liberal hysteria on this subject, much of it mythology more than fact, all one has to do is Google things like "Scott Walker Koch brothers".

 The fact of the matter is this. The Koch brothers have many business interests in the state of Wisconsin, and they have every right to donate their money to political causes as they see fit. Their business interests in this state provide and create private sector jobs. This creates wealth for those employees and private sector growth, both of which in turn creates tax revenue for the state.

 Liberals would have you believe that the Koch brothers' interests in Wisconsin are somehow destructive, when in fact they are the opposite. They want you to believe the Koch brothers are outside bogeymen, interlopers, coming into the state for the sole purpose of derailing the left's gravy train without good reason.

 Let us now discuss some real interlopers into this state, who have no honest interest in Wisconsin, other than making a political power statement. Democracy for America, or DFA, is a political action committee who are dead enders left over from "Screaming" Howard Dean's failed 2004 presidential bid. Now this operation is run by Howard's equally whacked out pinko brother Jim Dean.

 DFA can claim many reasons they exist, but to boil it down to one key point: They demand big government liberalism rule the day at the expense and abuse of the taxpayer. That is their sole purpose in life. Now, let us look at some recent DFA fundraiser and political action emails.

 The first one comes on April 20th, from Kaili Lambe, DFA campaign manager. In this email she asks for money, of course, and she describes what DFA plans to do in Wisconsin. She says they are going to launch a ground campaign and anti Walker TV ads. But a few interesting facts stood out to me. From Kaili's email;

"We're going to make it happen with 36 canvassers backed up by hundreds of volunteers across the state."
"I'm flying out to Wisconsin in just six days and I'll be on the ground through the election to back up our members on the ground."
"I'll be on the ground in Wisconsin for six weeks and, with your support, I know we can win these crucial recalls."

 Note that Kaili makes a distinction between volunteers and these 36 "canvassers". I think we can safely call those 36 folks most likely non-Wisconsinites and paid community organizers.  Here is another peculiar email from DFA on April 24th. This one comes  from Nick Passanante, Deputy Political Director for DFA. Here are a few choice lines from it;

"Did you see Kaili's email from over the weekend?"
"Kaili hits the ground in Wisconsin tomorrow to start laying the groundwork for the biggest campaign in DFA's history. We're counting on you to pledge your support today."

 Let's see, I am writing this on April 26th. So, that means Kaili and her 36 friends are already here in Wisconsin for their 6 week visit. I wonder what fancy hotel they are staying in ? I wonder who is paying for it ? And the biggest campaign in DFA's history, but why so much energy ? Here are the only reasons I can find in both of these emails;

"to make sure Walker and his right-wing cronies in the State Senate are recalled."
"to recall right-wing Gov. Scott Walker and his Republican cronies in the Wisconsin Senate on June 5th."

 No other reasons are given. But I think I might have found a reason in another DFA email sent to me on April 23rd. This one is from Wisconsin Representative and Senate candidate Tammy Baldwin on behalf of DFA. In this email, Baldwin asks you to join her in telling Wisconsin Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen to sign on to a case against the Supreme Court's ruling on Citizens United.

 Why is this an important thing to do ? Because, I quote Baldwin, "it's woven into the progressive tradition of Wisconsin." And there is your reason why. Gov. Walker had the guts to take this rotten progressive tradition, that has nearly bankrupted Wisconsin, and throw it on the ash heap of history. They cannot allow him to be proven right by that same history.

 So remember this. When the left howls about the Koch brothers, they have business interests in Wisconsin, which provide jobs and tax revenue to the state. The Koch brothers have honest skin in this game, and we along with them, have something very real to lose. We have every right to fight for this.

 These east coast DFA leftist radicals have no interest in our state. They come to cause destruction for their own political power and gain. At the end of the day, win or lose, they walk away with a paycheck and have never put any skin into our game. If they win, we the Wisconsin taxpayer pays the price.

 Now, you tell me who the interlopers really are ?
