Did the world really end on Friday and we just didn't notice?

 By D.C.

Some crazy preacher claimed that yesterday,Oct.21,would be the end of the world. When I woke up this morning,I felt lucky that the world didn't end. Then I read New York Times' columnist Joe Nocera's piece,"The Ugliness All Started With Bork ",and knew that in fact something earth shattering must have happened on Friday.

The usually reliable liberal hack and typewriter hit man,Nocera, writes in his column that all the discord and mistrust between the political left and right can be directly traced to the democrats deep sixing Robert Bork's 1987 Supreme Court nomination.Sunday,Oct.23,is the 24th "anniversary" of the democratic destruction of Bork's character.

Nocera says that even if you disagreed with Bork's conservative views,he was more than qualified to be on the court. He goes on to say that the way the left treated Bork, during his senate hearings, was unheard of then.It shocked and stunned Republicans who did not expect these type of attacks on Bork.Like an elephant, the right never forgot this.

So,when liberals cry about Republican obstructionism they only have themselves to blame for it,because they are the ones who started it with the spiking of Bork. This coming from Nocera does make one wonder if the end of the world really is near.
