The most painful of procedures. (Hint:It's the Brewers.)

By D.C.

Waterboarding, the controversial interrogation procedure,is said to cause those subjected to it extreme mental duress.I have never been ran over by a dump truck, but I imagine it would be extremely physically painful.

I have endured very painful dental procedures that require some mental toughness to endure. Many of us endure these procedures because of the promise of satisfaction in the end.

While baseball offers no promise of satisfaction in the end,one of the most brutal procedures I have ever had to endure was watching my hometown Milwaukee Brewers in the NLCS.

Seeing them completely melt down at the feet of our arch rivals, whose name I refuse to repeat here, was so gut wrenchingly painful and mentally taxing it had to be akin to waterboarding.I imagine the players felt like a dump truck ran them over.

Like those painful dental procedures, this was a procedure I chose to endure for what I hoped would be a satisfactory result. While I am proud of my hometown boy's season and am deeply grateful for all the thrilling moments they gave me,in the end my teeth are still all screwed up.

Still,I will gladly go through this procedure again next season in hopes I can end up with a big beautiful smile on my face.

So schedule my appointment for April 1,2012.
