A poll conducted by USA TODAY/Gallop last weekend has some interesting results.I'm sure the reason they conducted this poll was to show that the "Occupy Wall Street" movement is gaining traction among the American people.I don't they got the results they wanted.Here's the USA TODAY story,"Poll: Washington to blame more than Wall Street for the economy."
Sure,the numbers for Wall Street are pretty bad,but the numbers for the federal government are even worse.Here's some of the poll results;
"When asked whom they blame more for the poor economy, 64% of Americans name the federal government and 30% say big financial institutions."
"78% say Wall Street bears a great deal or a fair amount of blame for the economy; 87% say the same about Washington."I think those are good numbers for Conservatives,they show that most Americans do understand that the government is at the root of the problems.Now this next paragraph is very telling,keep in mind that one of the major gripes by the "Occupy Wall Street" freak show is the forgiveness of college loan debt;
"On whom to blame for the economy, only one educational group — people with some post-graduate schooling — were more likely to blame Wall Street instead of Washington. All others — college grads, people with some college, people who never went to college — pointed more at Washington."So,it's the liberal eggheads who have spent the vast majority of their lives in college,whether as a student or teacher,and probably never worked a day in the real world are the only group who blame Wall Street more than Washington.The same group who has probably accumulated the most college loan debt and now are howling in the "Occupy Anywhere" movement.
While getting masters degrees in things like art history is an honorable thing,these folks need to understand these type of degrees are nearly worthless in the real world.If you racked up $200,000 in loan debt,it's your own fault.It's time to start looking for a waitress position or delivering pizzas because that is about all your qualified for outside the ivory towers of academia.Good luck paying off that college loan debt because we the people sure as hell ain't paying it off for you.At some point these folks need to grow up,stop smoking dope and accept responsibility for their actions.
Here are some other interesting numbers;
"Asked what the wealthiest 1% of Americans — the ones excoriated by Occupy Wall Street —should pay in taxes as a percentage of their income, more than a quarter of people — 28% — have no opinion. Another 21% say the richest should pay 10% or less, and only 18% say they should pay more than 30%."These numbers tell me that most folks think that the top 1% taxes are about right or should be lower,which tells me people understand how high taxes stifle growth and job creation.In others words,they ain't buying Obama's tax the rich rhetoric.
These are the numbers I found most surprising;
"Only 54% say the economic system is personally fair to them; 44% say it is not."We all know that 47% of people either pay nothing in taxes or get back more than they pay in,which means the other 53% pay all the taxes.Do you see anything similar between these two sets of numbers?
I bet if you could poll these two numbers together that you would find out that most of those 44% of folks who say the economic system is not fair to them would be a huge part of the 47% of folks who don't pay any taxes.Conversely,I bet those 54% who say the economic system is fair are a huge part of the 53% who do pay taxes.
You see these type of numbers over and over again in all sorts of polls and it has brought me to this conclusion.There are about 40-45% of the American population (democrats) who refuse to contribute to society,yet they are the ones who demand the most from this society.
Liberals love to talk about the global warming tipping point.These polls and numbers show we are quickly reaching a dangerous national tipping point.Once that 40-45% of the takers from society pass 50%,our nation as we know it is doomed.
