Brief summary and comments on the Florida Republican debate.

 By D.C.

This is my brief summary of the Fox-Google/Florida Republican Debate.I will go in alphabetical order to be fair.

Michelle Bachmann is a goose, ready to be served.

Herman Cain showed us he has a tick,9,9,9.

Newt Gingrich proved he still can quote Ronald Reagan.

Jon Huntsman told us that he really wants to be taken seriously by democrats.

Gary Johnson told us about problems with his neighbor. Why? I don't know.

Sarah Palin had better things to do.

Ron Paul reminded me that my almost 20 year crush on him is still just a fantasy.

Rick Perry still has problems with Mitt Romney.

Mitt Romney still has problems with Rick Perry.

Rick Santorum tried very hard.

Here are some of my thoughts about the debate.I don't understand why they let Gary Johnson in the debate.I think Obama talked Jon Huntsman into running.

This is hard for me.I like Michelle Bachmann and the fact she set the conservative bar high for the other candidates, but she has ran out of her rehearsed lines. She has nothing beyond those lines. She is done.

Gingrich is a phony and Santorum is not likeable. They say all the right things.I don't believe Gingrich means it.Neither of them click for me and the polls show they don't click for anybody else either.

I hope that the Republican nominee adopts some of Herman Cain's ideas on radical change to the tax code. Not tweaking the tax code, totally scrapping it and creating something new, simple and fair.No more deductions. It would be a clear difference between Obama's view of taxes and ours.

Ron Paul has already won. Finally, many Republicans have come to understand and respect Dr.Paul's genius on monetary issues and policy. Unfortunately, like many geniuses, there is an included madness.

I am not a supporter of Mitt Romney. He is a slick, seasoned candidate but I am not sure he can beat Obama. He does not offer a clear enough difference.I will not vote for him in the primary. If he wins the nomination,I will hold my nose and vote for him.If Romney wins the nomination it will be our fault and we must vote for him.

Getting rid of Obama is more important than Romney. We can deal with Romney ourselves. If we have a Tea Party controlled Congress and a conservative Republican Senate,we repeal Obamacare or pass fundamental tax reform and Romney would have no choice but to sign it.We will write President Romney's budget for him.Don't worry so much about Romney, worry about winning.

I noticed in the second debate to watch Rick Perry's mannerisms. Not when he is speaking but when the other candidates are attacking him.He is hilarious to watch, the cocky confidence he shows is to die for.I know that can be off putting to some folks but I love it.The man just oozes confidence.

After the debate,my husband said that Perry reminded him of Reagan in the way he displayed his confidence.I can just imagine a debate between Perry and Obama,Perry's confidence and attitude would drive Obama nuts.

Perry may not have the best speaking skills and he sometime seems to get tongue tied and/or stammer, but there is no doubt he is a fighter. As the campaign goes on,hopefully Perry becomes more polished in this area.

Perry does have some problems with immigration among conservatives, but as a governor he has dealt with the problem and has a record on the issue.Something that after 4 years as president Obama does not have. This may play well for Perry in a general election with moderate and independent voters. He could also take a chunk of the Hispanic vote from Obama.

Sarah Palin will not enter the race.I believe that Palin will endorse a candidate after the Iowa primary.Regardless of who wins Iowa, the candidate she endorses will become the Republican nominee.Palin is the kingmaker and she knows it.
