Come on liberals,Now your playing the race card on baseball?

By D.C.

We all know the political left is on a constant search for racism and we on the right are constantly the ones who are accused of being the racists.I take it very personally when someone calls me a racist for my political beliefs.

 It is very easy to call someone a racist and it is very hard to prove that you are not.There isn't any "non" racist test to take.Liberals know this and it is why they,on a near daily basis,play the race card on any variety of issues.

 Which now brings us to baseball.Yes folks,America's pastime is racist.Well,not my hometown Milwaukee Brewers but the umpires.At least according to some moonbat liberals.

 First,we have Milwaukee Journal columnist Eugene Kane's Sept.26th piece,"Brewers are now a melting pot of winners".Kane tells of how he wrote a column,some years ago,about a lack of racial diversity on the Brewers' club,then he seems to take some personal credit for the racial diversity and success of the current Brewers' team
"This was during a stretch of pitiful seasons when a virtually all-white club stood out from most major league teams that had more African-American and Latino players in the field. Someone must have taken note; the team started adding more color to the lineup - and yes, it started winning, too."
Kane goes on to describe this diversity;
"Today, from Prince Fielder to Ryan Braun to Yovani Gallardo to Francisco Rodriguez to Takashi Saito, it's a rainbow locker room built from different cultures and backgrounds. Add Nyjer Morgan, the African-American hockey player who spent time in Canada, and it's a team that smashes all kinds of stereotypes."
I am glad Eugene is happy with the racial makeup of the Brewers,but notice how Kane looks at the team.He sees them based on their race,not the talent of the players.The Brewers did not hire a single player on their roster this season because of affirmative action or some other government mandated racial quota.They didn't hire some of them as merely diversity hires to keep guys like Kane off their back either.The Brewers hired these players because of their talents and abilities,race had nothing to do with it.To liberals like Kane,talent and ability are meaningless.

 Speaking of talent and ability,or the lack thereof,we now come to lefty moonbat David Sirota's piece in Salon today,"What baseball tells us about racism".Sirota does his usual song and dance about how racist white people are.Of course,in Sirota's warped thinking,white liberals (like him) are not racists.He discusses a Southern Methodist University study that "seems" to show white umpires are racist in how they call balls and strikes for "non" white pitchers.
"Today, Major League Baseball games using QuesTec's computerized pitch-monitoring system are the most statistically quantifiable workplaces in America. Match up QuesTec's accumulated data with demographic information about who is pitching and who is calling balls and strikes, and you get the indisputable proof of how ethnicity does indeed play a part in discretionary decisions of those in power positions."
"This is exactly what Southern Methodist University's researchers did when they examined more than 3.5 million pitches from 2004 to 2008. Their findings say as much about the enduring relationship between sports and bigotry as they do about the synaptic nature of racism in all of American society."
 Sirota then goes on to use this "study" to "prove" that the rest of white America,minus the liberals,is racist too.Only that us white folks don't know we are racists,it is in our subconscious.He says we have a "conditioned behavior" because America is an "institutionally racist society".

 He also uses this "study" to show that umpires are more "fair" when they are more closely scrutinized,such as during a playoff game.He jumps from that to workplace hiring practices and that to be "fair" employers need to be under more scrutiny.Of course this will be liberal scrutiny.Sirota concludes with this;
"Thus, the inherent problem of today's pervasive "post-racial" fallacy. By perpetuating the lie that racism doesn't exist, pretending that bigotry is not a workplace problem anymore, and resisting governmental efforts to halt such prejudice, we create the environment for our ugly subconscious to rule. In doing so, we consequently reduce the potential for much-needed self-correction."
 Now,I am not going to deal with Sirota's bias.We know where he is coming from,race baiting is his bread and butter.I would like to talk about this SMU "study" that he holds up as "indisputable proof" that white folks are racists.(Again,with the exception of white liberals.)

 These so called "non biased" studies can manipulate numbers to prove anything the study writers want to prove.Just look at all the fraudulent global warming studies.How about all those government funded studies?

 Ask yourself this,why would a person dream up a study like this? One reason,to prove a point that they already believe to be true.Why did they only include the race of the pitcher and the umpire? It would seem to me the race of the batter is also important in this equation.What about the catcher?

 We have all seen players who rub an umpire the wrong way and then that umpire takes out his personal grudge against that player by the way he calls balls and strikes.This had nothing to do with race,it was the fact the player mouthed off to the umpire.

 Also,we have seen All Star level players(both hitters and pitchers) get calls to go their way as opposed to say a rookie player.Once again,it had nothing to with race.Any long time baseball fan,which I happen to be one,has seen these type calls over and over.How does the SMU study account for such things? The answer is,they don't.The authors simply went into it looking for racism and guess what? They found it.What a shock!

 What were two of the first institutions in America that helped to break down racial barriers? The military and professional sports.Two institutions that liberals hate because they don't understand them.Anything that liberals do not understand they fear and then they demonize it.

 One of the lefts' favorite demons is racism,so they play the race card on things they don't understand.We know what liberals think of the military,they cannot understand why anyone would join the military so there must be something racist about it.They cannot understand why normal people enjoy sports,so there must be something racist about that.In the same way they do not understand the Tea Party,so it must be racist.This is not complicated stuff here,it's the way liberal's addled minds work.

 I hope you enjoy the baseball playoffs,but please don't worry about the race of the players or the umpires.I doubt they worry very much about it.

 Oh yeah,GO BREWERS!
