Little Bobby wants another Band Aid for America's Boo Boo.

By D.C.

  "Little Bobby" Reich is at it again.Instead of concentrating on serious things,he has daydreamed away another day.In his column this week,"Obama's Jobs Plan:Will He Offer Policy Miniatures or Give 'em Hell? ",Robert Reich has some brilliant plans to improve the economy.

 He has two plans for this.The first plan is known as Plan A.The second plan is known as Plan B.It's always good to have a secondary plan if the first plan is a failure.(I think I am channeling some old Monty Python's skit here.)

 So,here is Big Brain's first plan,Plan A;
 "Plan A would be big enough to restart the economy (now barely growing) and reduce unemployment (which continues to grow). That means spending another trillion dollars over the next two years – rebuilding the nation’s infrastructure, creating a new WPA and Civilian Conservation Corps, and lending money to cash-starved states and cities."

 Bobby,I sure am glad you have a Plan B because we already tried Plan A and that was a failure.I guess you were busy teaching public policy out at U.C. Berkeley (and/or hitting the bong with Bill Maher) and missed that one.

 Now,Bobby knows those mean right wingers will oppose this.He's right.He says those wacky Tea Party folks will say we can't afford it.He's right again.But he has a come back for this.It is the best time to borrow another trillion dollars for this daydream of his.Treasury bills are only at 2% interest! How can we pass up this deal?

Mr.Reich,with all due lack of any respect,this nation is over 14 trillion dollars in debt.Borrowing another trillion dollars will not make the economy better.It will make it worse.The Treasury doesn't need to keep laying dollars on the table,they need to start pulling dollars in.Interest rates need to go up so people can start earning something from their dollars.This gives them confidence in the market and in their future.

That's how you build an economy Mr.Reich.That's how you create jobs Mr.Reich.It's based on confidence in the future.This president and his politically motivated economic policies instill no confidence in the future.

Just like the first stimulus,this money will mearly be a band aid.It will prop up already bloated state and local governments for another year or so.Only until federal,state and local governments get their own debt and over blown budgets in check will the economy begin to recover.This will give the people who actually create jobs confidence in their future.That is when the economy will grow.More government debt and handouts do nothing for this.

Well,Pee Wee is not listening to me anyway.He has a plan for Barry O. to sell Plan A to us regular folks.Us local yokels.Us hicks out here.You know,the suckers who buy this ShamWow of Keynesian theory.Little Bobby's brilliance shines like a dim star on a cloudy night.This is his idea of how Barry should sell it;
 "That means the President would have to fight for it. He’d have to barnstorm the country, demanding Republican votes. He’d build his 2012 campaign around it, attacking the Republican “do nothing” Congress. He’d give ‘em hell."

Bobby! Wake up! Stop smoking that dope and look alive up there! Did you miss the president cruising around the nation in his big,black,Canadian built,carbon belching,behemoth of a bus? What the hell was that all about?

Nobody is buying it Bobby.You honestly can't even give it away anymore.Regular 'ole folks have figured out that this government spending does nothing productive for our economy.These same folks know that being 14 trillion dollars in debt is a very bad thing.We don't need some egghead professor to tell us that we are too stupid to understand why the government needs to borrow another trillion dollars so it can solve all our problems.We are not the stupid people here.

When will these Keynes worshipping liberals stop digging the hole of debt deeper? When will they realize that the Great Ziggurat of Keynesian Economic Theory,with it's mythical entrance to the Hall's of Socialist Utopia,is not at the bottom of this hole? I understand that having the conversation about actually starting to fill the hole in with these liberals is impossible.But can we just stop digging? The things of Bobby's daydreams are not down here.
